Bolt up — to the top of the list.
When new NFL uniforms are announced, very few times do teams call their shot and actually land it. In fact, that can be said about the Chargers and their much-hyped uniform reveal in 2020: Social media hyped up the uniforms, and boy, oh boy, did they land it.
While Nike hasn’t done the best (or the worst) job with the NFL uniform redesigns, the Chargers unis instantly vaulted to the top of the list when they were revealed in 2021
While it seems almost blasphemous to consider certain modern day uniforms among the greatest the NFL has to offer, here are some other uniforms for you to consider:
Best NFL jerseys ever
It’s hard to debate that the Packers’ timeless and simple look isn’t one of the best NFL uniforms of all time. The Green and Gold is instantly recognizable, along with the helmet logo.
Also an underrated part of the uniform: The striped collar, which single-handedly warded off the NFL from changing up these classic duds.
The Chargers have consistently had the best uniforms in the NFL, and their 2020 redesigns instantly vaulted them up in the discussion of “greatest uniform of all time.”
Everything about their powder blue jersey top works: The lightning bolt, the colors, the font, the simplicity. By all measures of the phrase, they’re instant classics. It’s pure eye candy.
The Dolphins throwback uniforms from the Ryan Tannehill years are still some of the best jerseys to ever see the field.
They went back to the well this year to honor the late-great Don Shula with classic white throwbacks, which are equally as sexy. They feature a little bit different of a shoulder stripe, but the colors and design still play so, so well on the eyes.
When the Rams started pushing throwbacks out more and more often when they moved back to Los Angeles, it was a welcome sight over the drab, boring navy blue and gold they had been using
The return of the classic royal blue and yellow look for the Rams is somewhat akin to the Chargers uniforms, and the helmets with the horns are among the best ever in the sport, too.
There’s a reason that the Raiders’ black uniform tops have remained largely untouched throughout their history.
There is beauty in simplicity and the Las Vegas Raiders pull off the look beautifully, and they always have. Like the Chargers and Dolphins, it’s the perfect melding of location, color scheme and team name.
The Buccaneers’ creamsicle throwbacks are the best thing about the ’70s-era Bucs squad. They’ve endured so long, in fact, that fans are still clamoring to bring back the orange-and-white as an alternate at some point in the near future.
The look stuck with the Buccaneers through the next two decades until changing their look in the ’90s to be more in line of what you see today. Still, the orange endures as one of the best looks in the NFL.
